U.S. Congressman Steve Kagen M.D.

Steve Kagen was born and raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he and his wife Gayle raised four children. His first job was at the Foremost Dairy where he bagged sugar and whey. He later earned an Honors Degree in Molecular Biology and his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2006, Dr. Kagen founded the Kagen Allergy Clinics in Appleton, Green Bay, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac and served as an assistant clinical professor of Allergy-Immunology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

MEDICINE

He is triple Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, and Diagnostic Laboratory Immunology, and was named by Wisconsin physicians as one of the “Best Doctors in America.” He is also credited with having discovered many new causes of allergy and asthma, and served for seven years as the exclusive Allergy Consultant to CNN, CNN Airport News, CNN Headline News, and CNN Interactive.

Dr. Kagen was honored in 2005 by the Environmental Protection Administration for his creation of a 5th grade health education program that protects children from environmental risks.

U. S. CONGRESS

Steve was elected to Congress to fight for guaranteed access to affordable health care for everyone.

Steve Kagen is the only Wisconsin member of Congress serving on the House Committee on Agriculture, and has a seat on the influential Subcommittees on Livestock, Dairy and Poultry; Conservation, Credit, Energy and Research; and Department Operations, Oversight, Nutrition and Forestry.

Dr. Kagen also serves on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, having been awarded seats on the Aviation and Water Resources and Environment Subcommittees.

Steve is hard working, tough and cannot be bought, and like everyone in Wisconsin, he is fiscally responsible and socially progressive.


Wisconsin Procurement Institute, WPI

The Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) is a nonprofit organization established in 1987 to "bridge the gap" for Wisconsin companies interested in supplying products and/or services to Federal, State, and local agencies as well as prime contractors. WPI is a Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) administered by The Defense Logistics Agency, on behalf of the Secretary of Defense. PTACs are local resources available at minimal or no cost that provide hands-on assistance to business’s in certification, improving process and technical capabilities, and targeted marketing in order to not only access but compete in the Government marketplace.
